Floatation

Is there anyone that shouldn’t float?

Please avoid floating if you have one or more of the following conditions: uncontrolled epilepsy or history of seizures, drug or alcohol intoxication, skin/infectious disease, open wounds, serious psychological conditions, any medical conditions that are untreated or not under control, such as high or low blood pressure / prone to ear infections, skin allergies, or reactions to Epsom salt or hydrogen peroxide.

You will be asked to sign a detailed waiver form before your first float. When in doubt, please consult your doctor first.

It’s my first time. What do I need to know?

Like many things, floating takes a bit of practice. It also works differently for everyone, as you have a unique mind and body.

During your first float, you’ll spend some time adjusting to the environment, before you enter a meditative state. View our first float guide for a short video of what you can expect.

What will I need to bring or prepare?

Swimwear is optional. We recommend going nude, so you can fully relax with nothing on your skin. You'll have full privacy in your personal room, with a pod and shower inside.

We provide everything else – towels, earplugs, and toiletries. You may want to bring conditioner or a comb.

Have something to eat before so you won't feel hungry, and refrain from caffeine three hours before your float. Please also avoid shaving/waxing on the same day. Other than that, come with an open mind.

How is the water cleaned?

The water is fully filtered 3 times for at least 15 minutes between each float, passing through a 1-micron filter and a UV light disinfection system. We add hydrogen peroxide for disinfection.

The high concentration of Epsom salt also helps to create a sterile environment where microorganisms cannot survive in.

What if I’m claustrophobic?

The pod is 2.1m long and 1.4m across, comfortable for most bodies. It's easy to close your eyes and imagine you’re floating in the vastness of outer space.

You are in control of your experience. The pod does not lock shut, so you may open it and step out anytime. You may also keep the light on.

Is the water hot or cold?

The water is heated to around 34.5 degrees – matching the temperature of your skin. As you lie still, you'll eventually lose the sensation of the water touching your skin, thus giving you the feeling of weightlessness.

Will my skin prune up?

Not at all. Soaking in Epsom salt water relaxes your muscles and reduces inflammation, replenishes your magnesium levels, and more.

Can I float when I’m pregnant?

Definitely, it’s like placing a womb within a womb. Floating helps to relieve the aches and pains that come with pregnancy.

If you are in your first trimester or have any concerns, please consult your physician before coming in.

Do I need to wear swimwear to float?

It's optional; you’re recommended to float nude, so you can fully relax without anything on your skin. All of our rooms are private with a shower and float pod, so you won’t have to walk around in a towel.

Can I float if I’m having my period?

We’d recommend waiting till after your period is over. You’ll feel more at ease if you don’t have to worry about leaks!

That said, if you are comfortable and not experiencing heavy flow, you may use a tampon while floating.

Can I float if my hair is coloured?

If you’ve recently dyed or bleached your hair, please wait at least a week after to float. This applies especially to semi permanent hair dyes, as they are more prone to running.

I’m prone to motion sickness. Should I float?

If you are prone to motion sickness, you may experience it on your first float. It takes some time to get used to the sensation of floating. You may wish to bring anti-nausea pills. We’d also recommend to lie still in the water, so that it does not get choppy.

Are there any weight or height restrictions?

Our pods can fit a person of up to 2m tall. If you're a tall or plus sized individual, you may bump into the sides more than the average person, at first. With time, you'll be able to center yourself easily in the pod.

There is no weight limit – thanks to a high concentration of Epsom salt in each pod, you will float naturally and effortlessly.

There is no maximum age limit, however you should be physically able to enter and exit the float pod without assistance.

Do you have couple rooms?

Floating is a private and personal experience. By leaving all external distractions outside the pod, you'll be able to access a deeper state of relaxation. Hence, we do not offer couple rooms in our space. However, you and your partner can hang out together in our lounge after your floats, for as long as you'd like.
